Many people don't know that they qualify for educational discounts.

As of this writing, a household with a full or part time college student or a high school teacher can get Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 for $250. Vegas, Premier and Avid Liquid are more liberal on what kind of student qualifies (for Vegas and Liquid it's preschool through college).

There are a number of educational discount houses online. I don't want to promote one above the other, so do a Google search on "academic software."
